First Day Back...

I thought that I would get a jump on the day by leaving at like 515 in the morning, but alas, it was raining and you know how people drive when it rains. All told it took me about 1 hr and 15 mins to get to work. Not too bad considering I did wait in a bit of the rain induced traffic. There's something strange about coming back to work at my old office. Its like when you come home from college for the first time. It feels like your home, but you know for a fact that its really not. You're comfortable there because you see touches of your past life all over the place, but you have to discover all the new things too. The best part of starting on a Friday is that its Friday and here's the weekend. I know what Friday traffic can be like around here, so I tried to stay late and leave around 7. Again, the rain killed me. I was able to pass most of the bad spots by jumping on the HOV, but I always tell myself to get off of it before the final merge, but I NEVER listen. There was a good half hour spent inching along a bit of highway, MAYBE a mile long. Rain slowed me down the rest of the way, but I wasn't pulling my hair out like I thought I would. I wasn't happy, but not stark raving mad. I will have to institute a no talking rule with $2 for the first 30 minutes of my arrival after work. My cool down period if you will. I don't think it will always be like this, but she had Friday off and she was looking for some human interaction. It was kinda like the teacher I dated years ago. During the summer, she would be home alone and when I got there wanted to do something, anything...I nearly killed her.

Wow, wait until you get married and have a kid. You'll go nutso with a wife who has stayed home with a baby all day for company. That's the WORST, ask Harold. He was ready for me to go back to work way before I was!
