The Life/Art Mirror

I was reading an article about how the Democrats are announcing plans to get troops out of Iraq starting next year. Good luck to them, I don't want anymore Americans dying anyway. After a weekend of liberal slanted views from $2 this weekend, I tried to look at the GOP as the evil empire that she likens it to these past years. When I was watching Battlestar Galactica, I was kinda trying to see the Cylon occupation of New Caprica like the US-led coalition in Iraq. There was a recent bombing at a Iraqi police recruitment center and a couple episodes ago, rebel human forces sent a suicide bomber into a police force graduation. Similar? Sure. Did I see the need for the humans bombing the Cylons. Of course. Did I see the need for the Iraqis to bomb the police. Not as much, only becasue Cylons are not human beings. I could see the desire for their people to be left alone. Do I think that if we left them alone that we wouldn't have any more problems in the area? No. We need oil. Chavez is a prick, so we come here.

I did hear something interesting on NPR this weekend. A broadcaster asked something to the effect of, if the world is coming to its tragic end, why aren't the leaders of the major religions meeting to try to hammer this out. We try to handle it all politically but I hear nothing but religious screams for peace just before bullets are fired and walls are errected or bombs exploded. My questions is yeah, Why Not?!?!?
