Traveling in Film
I love to travel. Getting to see the thousands of years of history and culture in a country's lands and buildings and people. Luckily I've been able to travel to so many places around the world, most of it through work, but some gratefully through personal vacations. Recently I've been seeing movies shot in remote locations that I've been to before. Last night in the new Bond film, I saw some streets in the Bahamas that they tried to pass off as Madagascar, plus some of the "real" streets of the islands. This morning, I was fast forwarding through a film starring Ellen Pompeo and William Baldwin (you can guess why I was using FF) that was shot in Barcelona. It was so cool to see some of the places that they shot. I sat in the same bench in Picasso park where Baldwin was sharing an ice cream with his daughter. I walked past and took pictures of the Columbus Statue from the cable cars. Hopefully $2 and I will be able to finish our tour of Europe and the rest of the globe. Maybe then we can both share in these cool flashback movie moments.
