Suwannee River

Most of you don't know the song, "Old Folks at Home", but if you heard me hum the first line, you'd know it instantly. It goes, "Way down upon the Swanee river," and the rest is history. Why do I care, well I drove over the Suwannee River a couple times this weekend and there is a sign denoting the river with the musical notes to the famous tune. Who knew that the song is actually the state song of Florida?!?! I was pretty bored and did some research on the song, and it wasn't even supposed to be this river. The composer actually used some river in SC called PeeDee. I wish I had time to stop and take a picture of the sign...I was humming the song ALL weekend.

IF you're interested, here's a Wiki page about the song/river: Suwannee River
