$2 has style....when it comes to playing games that is. =) Whereas I will bull rush forward against an opponent and hope there are some health bonuses laying around, she will chip and charge her way to wearing the guy down. Last night in God of War II, she got to a point where she had to defeat some guy to take his key. When I went through this area it literally took me 5 tries to beat him. I eventually got smart and dodged enough to whip out some titan power on him. She methodically rolled away after hitting him once or twice and hit him with arrows when possible. Next thing you know, he was defeated and off she went. I did coach her in a couple of things as when to break out some weapons or attacks, but its pretty clear that she is a better gamer than I am. I think I still hold an edge on thinking outside of the box to solve puzzles and looking in the right places for hidden treasure, but thats all comes with experience. How humbling an experience it was to see her cruise through this guy. I went in thinking, "I hope she doesn't get frustrated and stop playing when this guy kicks her ass." I do like watching her play...its fun. Sometimes boring because I've usually been through it already and also hard to bite my tongue when I know she's lost or passed up something good.
The student has surpassed the teacher. Oh well, its was bound to happen.
