Its amazing what a few miles will buy you. Looking in the Springfield/Lorton area, there were tons of choices, and I don't mean just single family vs townhouse. There were lots of different styles of homes and layouts and neighborhoods. Almost an infinite lot to choose from given our price range. Then our realtor asked me to give him alternate locations and I was vague and said Fairfax. I never realized how big Fairfax was, not the county, but the city/region. It seems like the housing deities like to reward you with bigger houses and lawns and basements if you choose to live outside the 20 minute comfort zone. The "even in traffic , I can get to the office in 20 minutes" zone. Just along I-66, there were houses the same size, but $70k cheaper than in Springfield and 10 years newer. If there were no other cars on the road, that area would be a great option for me. but alas, other people feel the need to crowd the streets. I guess I did make some progress, when $2 gets some breathing room, I will show her the ones I want and maybe make the owners an offer. Actually I think she has time to see the houses, its just that the longer she pushes this, the longer we have to live with her parents rent free. Thats what she wants...I know it.
We did have a conversation about the living arrangements. She told me that if I lived with O during the week, after the wedding, that it would not be an incentive to find a new home. WTF?!?! Are you kidding me? I'd still have to come home to her parents at least on the weekend. Thats their house, their rules. They love to work and clean their house CONSTANTLY...I love to rest and lounge on the couch. Thats not gonna work for very long. Trust me, I have incentive enough to find a new home.
Weddings and breasts make women crazy...its a fact.
