Last time I wrote anything I was planning on being home for quite awhile so I could share more of my adventures of the last month. Well, that all changed with a phone call, and off to West Virginia I went. Luckily it was only for a day, but that wasn't the end of it. The day I got back it was decided that I would go to Jacksonville the next week. I had no idea why I was going this time and even if I did have to go, why was I leaving on a Sunday....Tuesday was the earliest I should have left. Luckily I was able to sneak in some golf on Saturday, but I think due to all this sudden travel, $2 decided to forgo the pomp and circumstance of a wedding reception so that we could take some cold hard cash from her parents to buy a new house. This way my commute won't be 50 miles one way so I won't have to stay with Camel and Jessica Rabbit during the week. I think the funny thing was that when her dad first told me about having X amount of cash to spend for the wedding it was like $25K. That isn't anything to sneeze at, but when I asked $2 to go get the money from her mom so we could start saving for the house that day, she told me that she would be getting $10K, possibly $15K if we guaranteed that it would go only to the house. WTF...where did the other $10K go???? Apparently some of the money is going to buying a condo in NYC so that the sister will have a place to live. Damn...I knew I should have asked her earlier...that $10K was my new TV!!!!
Anyway, I think I will make it out of FL by the weekend to enjoy the holiday weekend. We got a new contract so that means lots of late nights again, but the travel should be over until the end of August, maybe September. The great part of this round of trips...we get to go to Guam and the Virgin Islands.....awesome. Maybe $2 can come out for one of the trips and we can just elope. Everyone stay posted for last minute flight deals to come to our wedding wherever it may be.
